It’s the little things

Updated: Oct 30

You know what, I never thought I could get so excited over one person signing up to my mailing list!

When I worked in big corporate whether it was tech, FMCG or Toys & Entertainment IF one person had purchased a bottle of wine or a Barbie doll it would have been classed as a massive failure! I was taught that success meant numbers of 1,000’s and 1,000,000’s NOT 1’s & 2’s.

BUT being in a small business has actually given me some serious perspective. I am so blown away with happiness when 1 person signs up to my mailing list, engages with a post or signs up to a class! Can you imagine how I feel when more than one person does it- it’s like an explosion of joy!!!

Big business conditioned me to not really celebrate my successes and find joy in the little things, even though I always tried too. If there was a success, then they moved you straight onto the next project, always focussing on what ‘wasn’t working’, but with my small business I can really enjoy and FEEL the success of just one person engaging with me.

It’s those small things that bring me joy and learning to enjoy them is all part of building inner peace and contentment (Santosha as we’ve been talking a lot about this month). Because, you know what, there are lots of days (and I mean lots) where nobody signs up to classes, or engages with my posts, or signs up to my mailing list. These days are tough and can feel a bit relentless, but that’s why finding the joy in the little things can be so critical.

Even though it’s tough to start with I can feel grateful for the fact that I have the opportunity to be my own boss for a while. I can feel grateful for the fact that I can bring other people joy when they attend one of my classes. And I can feel grateful that I don’t have to chase targets anymore PHEW!!

So it’s all in the little things, the peace, the contentment- you just need to notice it

 Love, Tash xx
