A slightly different blog from me today, but I really wanted to share some more information with you on my two new classes that I am introducing in January 2025.
I’ve been so overwhelmed with the positivity for my classes that I couldn’t wait to share with you my two new creations!
Tried and tested classes that I’ve been running through my studio partners or workshops over the past 6 months I’m so pleased to be able to bring them to Wantage too!
&Relax Wind Down – Monday’s 7:30pm Holy Trinity Church, Wantage
A beautiful class with the sole intention of winding your energy down at the end of a busy and chaotic day!
With our busy and crazy lives we can often find it hard to find a moment to gift ourselves time to slow down. Time to just relax. And even when we do manage to find time to physically rest, oftentimes our minds are still moving at a million miles an hour.
This class has been intentionally designed to help you fully relax.
We will start with a high energy tension release warm up – what I like to call ‘dance it out!’ – where we will jump and shake around with our eyes closed and just release some of our pent-up tension and energy.
We will then move into standing and seated Yoga postures that will be a lot slower in movement to my regular Vinyasa class – Flamingo Flow- and will just be focussed on stretching the body out and releasing tension points.
Finally, we will finish in a nice and long Savasana. Time for you to just relax. No pressure here. I know sometimes when your mind is busy and buzzing that Savasana can be quite nerve-wracking. Well by the time we have come to Savasana our mind will be slower and will be in a state of meditation so we are ready for relaxation….and if not- if our minds are still buzzing then we will always start Savasana with a little mindfulness practice to calm the mind down as well as finishing it with my signature head massage.
This class is for everybody and anybody. New or seasoned to Yoga it doesn’t matter. We will move intentionally slowly to calm the body down and all postures will have options for modifications too.
The sweat level is very low.
I would thoroughly encourage you to bring lots of comfies too for Savasana. Pillows, blankets, eye pillows etc. Anything to help you get cosy and fall fully into relaxation without having to worry about getting chilly. Although the hall is beautifully warm that shouldn’t be an issue.
Strength & Tone – Wednesday’s 6:15pm, The Letcombe Studio, Letcombe Regis
This is a MUST TRY class if you have been thinking about adding strength training into your life, but really don’t like the idea of going to a gym.
A class that I design from scratch and have been teaching over at the beautiful Grace & Gravity studio for the last 6 months with great success. I can’t wait for you all to experience it.
This is a high intensity Yoga Vinyasa class with the added bonus of using weights in the workout.
Don’t be put off! Just because it’s high intensity and you will sweat doesn’t mean that it’s not for you if you are a beginner or don’t think you are very strong. This class is for everyone- I mean it!
The class will have multiple options and modifications throughout as well as the option to practice without weights at all. We encourage kindness and empowerment in this class so it’s all about your choice, what feels right for you and choosing the challenge that suits you that day. Everyone is different and we all move differently in the class too but truly support one another- especially when I am shouting affirmations out loud!
The weights are light; at 1kg – 2kg, your choice, but after consistent practice you will truly notice a difference in your strength levels.
We work on a full body work out in each class, but with two classes being more focussed on arms/back and two being more focussed on legs/bums.
Sweat level – high but so fun!
-----------------
I am so passionate about both classes. They are at total opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of intensity and energy levels, but my view is that they are something we all need in our lives. Complement them with Flamingo Flow (book: https://www.flowingflamingo.com/book-a-class) and you have three amazing Yoga classes that work together beautifully.
If you have any questions or doubts, please feel free to message me. I’d be happy to chat through!
